WORK EXPERIENCE

Consultant
New Energy System Thinker (NEST), Oxford Energy, Oxford, United Kingdom
– A strategic consultancy project on energy storage systems of the real-world renewable power stations in the emerging market
– Evaluated the technological feasibility and profitability of investment of the potential energy storage systems by mathematical modeling
– Proposed effective business models according to the power purchase agreements of the market and the real-time power generation data
– Suggested on the investment of energy storage systems for particular renewable power stations in the scope of the next decade
– Presented results to the CEO and representatives of the client, which led to an invitation to the further cooperation

Internship Researcher

Umicore Korea Branch, Umicore Ltd., Cheonan, Republic of Korea
– Pioneered an extremely challenging research programme on the next generation core products of the company, aiming at a significant reduction on the cost of materials yet maintaining or even promoting the properties of products, which is critical for the electric vehicle market
– Developed a series of new potential core products, which would significantly reduce the cost (≥ 25%), while maintaining the same level of performance compared with the current core product
– Developed a research model to navigate the R&D process and significantly accelerated it (≥ 50%), while obtaining ultra-accurate results (≥ 95%). Since then, this methodology has been applied to navigate the new materials development in the R&D department
Visiting Researcher
National Institute of Chemistry (NIC), Ljubljana, Slovenia
– Working alone on a pilot project, which highly developed my project management skills and systematic thinking

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

DPhil
Research outputs contributed to three publications on three top-level peer review journals in the field of chemistry and materials science (Natural Chemistry, Journal of American Chemistry Society and Nano Letters)
Master
Research outputs not only would significantly reduce the cost of the current core products, but also introduced a new R&D method and technology know-how to guide the research and development of the company’s next generation core products
Bachelor
Dissertation research generated a Chinese patent and contributed to a key component of the Chinese high-speed train
