Ray FENG, Think tank Expert of ZHSCI, General manager of Pivotal China R&D Center
About FENG
He is mainly responsible for research, development and operation in Pivotal China, whose investment evaluation has exceeded hundreds of millions of yuan. As one of the key leaders in global product, Ray Feng offers strategic input for establishment of the digital idea and the corresponding software product. In 2010, Ray returned China from Silicon Valley and founded Greenplum China R&D Department. Greenplum, was a big data analytics company which was acquired by EMC Corporation. In 2013, Ray set up Pivotal China R&D Center based on Greenplum big data and VMware PaaS. The R&D Center promotes the leading position of Greenplum Database and Cloud Foundry in open source products as well as the cooperation with Alibaba Cloud. Meanwhile, R&D Center has issued dozens of USPs(United States Patent) and theses in the field of big data and cloud computing.
When in Silicon Valley, Ray worked as one of the earliest practitioners in cloud computing. He had been engaged in the research and development of cloud computing product in Oracle Corporation, to help Oracle become the opinion leader in resource scheduling of cloud computing.
He participated in compiling several works concerning big data and cloud computing, holding two USPs on cloud computing.
